hi, i'm pras. i made goddo.
around the world, countries are starting to ban social media for kids. i understand why. a lot of what kids see online today is built like a casino: endless feeds, autoplay, likes, all designed to keep them scrolling for as long as possible.
but i don't think banning works. kids find a way around it, and a ban throws away the good parts too. the internet is also kurzgesagt explaining the universe, brilliant turning maths into puzzles, a funny dance a kid wants to learn and show their family. kids should have those things.
what i believe in is agency. instead of keeping kids away from technology, help them grow the skills to use it well:
- to name their feelings, not just "happy" or "sad," but proud, frustrated, nervous, brave;
- to think for themselves and say what they mean;
- to spot what's fake and ask "how do you know that?";
- to notice when something is pulling at them, and put the screen down.
that's what goddo is for. it's a voice friend that listens, asks good questions, and gets curious with your child about dinosaurs, space, big feelings, or anything else. it nudges them back to the real world too: to go outside, build something, call a friend, talk to you. there are no ads, no feeds and no endless scrolling, and it never will have them.
you're always in the loop. you can read every conversation. if your child ever says something a parent needs to know, we tell you right away. and you can delete everything, any time.
a few promises i hold myself to
- children come first. trust comes before growth. if something isn't good for kids, we won't ship it.
- we never sell your family's data or show ads.
- nothing beats real people. goddo is here to support the parents, grandparents, teachers and friends in a child's life, never to replace them.
goddo is still young, and families like yours are shaping what it becomes. if you have an idea, a worry, or just want to tell me how your child is getting on, write to me at pras@hellogoddo.com. i read every one.
thank you for trusting us with your child's curiosity.
